We have always understood the importance of our team in delivering high quality service to our broker partners. Without them we can’t do what we do.
We’ve invested heavily in growing the team and ensuring they have access to a world-class training programme. We honestly believe our people are the best in the business.
But on our 10th birthday we are speaking to some of the team who’ve been with us since the start to find out how the business has changed, how we’ve stayed the distance and what the future holds.
Today in our third and final interview of the series, we talk to Rachel Wilkinson who has also been with us since the very beginning.
Why did you join NBS?
I joined NBS from our sister company on a temporary basis, covering for Rachel Oldroyd while she was on holiday and loved it so much I’m still here all these years later. I love it now as much as I did then.
What has kept you with the company for 10 years?
No two days are ever the same, every day is different and the people I work with have now become great friends – they are my work family!
How has your role changed?
When I first started I dealt with all the renewals and we had 70 cases for the whole month, we now have in excess of 3,000 per month – which is a big change! We literally worked night and day to get the quotations out to the brokers and that hasn’t really changed – we still do the same now!
How has the industry changed in that time?
I have worked in insurance for 30+ years and the changes have been enormous, the market changes all the time but it is very much more price driven now.
How has NBS changed to meet the needs of brokers?
We have changed by becoming more accessible, being consistent and always trying our best to give the best service we can. You can contact any underwriter either by phone, email, online chat or through our quote system so there is always the human touch.
What does the future hold for you and NBS?
I couldn’t Imagine working anywhere else, I learn new things every day, help people every day and actually enjoy my job.
