Converting Manual Contractors Combined Submissions Directly into the Portal

We have expanded our AI enabled submission technology to support Contractors Combined risks, meaning submitting these risks manually is now quicker and more efficient. Following the successful rollout across PI, Commercial Combined and Licensed Trade, this is the latest product to benefit from our AI-enabled submission technology.

The technology converts emailed proposal information into structured, portal-ready submissions, reducing manual rekeying and helping speed up turnaround times while maintaining the same experienced underwriting approach.

Reducing admin, while keeping underwriting consistent

We recognise that completing portal submissions can be time-consuming, and that software house submission remains a key route for many brokers. This enhancement is designed to simplify that journey by reducing repetitive data entry and manual rekeying for brokers and underwriters.

While the submission process is more streamlined, nothing changes in how risks are assessed. Cases are still reviewed by an experienced underwriter, ensuring the same appetite, consistency and decision-making standards brokers expect from NBS.

How it works

Submitting a risk remains straightforward – brokers can email a manual submission directly to the NBS team. From there:

  • AI technology captures the relevant information from proposal forms and supporting documentation and populates the NBS portal question set
  • The submission is then reviewed for completeness before being assessed by an experienced underwriter in the usual way.

This enhancement improves efficiency on both sides – reducing repeat data entry for brokers, removing manual rekeying for underwriters, and helping to speed up turnaround times.

What’s next

The rollout to Contractors Combined is another step in the continued expansion of our AI-enabled submission capability. We plan to introduce the technology across additional products, creating a consistent manual submission process throughout more of the NBS portfolio, making it even easier for brokers to approach NBS for an alternative quotation without additional administration.
